A/ AA Team Tryout Announcement

2025 - 2026

 

Oshawa Storm Ringette Association is excited to announce Team Tryouts for the 2025 - 2026 season. Tryouts will be held for the following teams:

 

U14AA, U19AA, U19A

 

Step 1 - ACTION REQUIRED PRIOR TO REGISTERING FOR TRYOUTS and WARM-UP SKATES:

ALL PLAYERS are asked to review the following Guidelines and FAQs from Ringette Ontario regarding Equal Opportunity for Participation. The purpose of these Guidelines is to describe how individuals of all gender identities, and those who do not wish to gender identify or do not gender identify, are able to participate in our sport. Where there is demand, Clubs/Associations, Regions, and Leagues sanctioned by Ringette Ontario will attempt to offer A and AA level programming under the following Competition Categories:

• Girls/Women only ringette
• Boys/Men only ringette
• Mixed ringette (formerly known as Co-Ed)

During registration players will be asked to complete a declaration attesting to the Competition Category(s) of team(s) they are willing to play on during the 2025-2026 season. As our sport evolves, there will be more boys/males interested in playing at the A/AA levels but we also respect that not all female athletes will want to play mixed ringette at this time. For this reason, we want to ensure all members have a thorough understanding of the Equal Opportunity for Participation when answering the Competition Category question included on the registration form.

Step 2: Register for Tryouts

 

All players wishing to attend OSRA tryouts and warm-up skates are required to register in advance through OSRA's RAMP Registration System.  

• Registration will close 48 hours prior to the 1st tryout date for each age/level.
• To be eligible to participate, all tryout attendees must have previously registered with their home association for the 2025/26 Season (i.e. insurance for tryouts). If not, please contact the OSRA President.
• To be eligible to participate, all tryout attendees must have completed the Athlete Intent to Play Form. 
• All registrants will be invited to attend the first 2 tryouts; the 3rd tryout  will be by invitation only. 

 

• Note: When you log in to the registration system, be sure to select "2025-2026 Clubs, Camps and Clinics” 

• Please note that 19AA tryouts will take place at Ajax Community Centre

Step 3 - Prepayment Required

All players wishing to participate in OSRA warm-up skates and tryouts are required to purchase one of the following "Tryout Passports". 

All athletes that will be playing goalie only this season will participate in warm-ups and tryouts free of charge , registration is required. 

Notes:

• Payment is required 48 hours prior to the 1st event where you intend to participate (i.e. 1st warm-up skate / 1st tryout) 
• Please send payment via e-transfer to treasurer.osra@outlook.com

 

• When sending your e-transfer, indicate your player’s name, year of birth, and the age/level of the tryout they are attending. 

 

• Payment will not be collected at arenas. Players who have not purchased a Passport will NOT be permitted to step on the ice. 
• No refunds will be provided unless OSRA cancels tryouts. 
• You must have completed the Intent to Tryout form in order to attend tryouts. If you have any concerns about this, email oshawastormpresident@gmail.com\

*The Oshawa Storm Ringette Association reserves the right to determine the number of teams, the levels of play, and to make changes up to and including the start of the regular season.

 

Tryouts and Warm-Up Skates for U16AA/ U14A/ U16A 

• Players that intend to try out for teams not offered by OSRA should visit the websites of the associations that are and review the processes for each. 

 

Releases

No player needs a release to try out for any team. A release is required in order to accept a spot on a team outside of one's home association.
