U8s Wrap Up Solid Season in Whitby
Submitted By Oshawa Storm PR on Monday, April 8, 2019
The Oshawa Storm capped a successful U8 season with a solid weekend at the Central Region ringette championship tournament this weekend in Whitby.

The Storm started the tournament with a victory over Pickering in an early morning game on Saturday. Adele Keeler led the way scoring four goals while Camille Mathers added a hat trick.

Keira Dewar and Brynn MacIntyre added one a piece. Lyla Walker, Olivia Byrom, Mathers, Dewar and MacIntyre all contributed assists. Jackson Missons had a strong performance in net.

Saturday afternoon the Storm took on Whitby. The game ended in a tie with Mathers netting two goals, and Keeler, Dewar and MacIntyre netting one apiece. Emily Peel and Harper McAllister both contributed assists. Callum Bruce had an awesome game between the posts making many saves.

Early Sunday morning the Storm went up against Sunderland in a hard fought last game of the season. Mathers netted two goals, as well as Keira Dewar who managed to get one in at the very last second. Keeler netted a single tally and an assist while Madison Snow, and MacIntyre each added assists.

Stellar defence by Morgan McMahon, Ella Brazier, Bruce, Walker and McAllister made it difficult for the other team to take any shots. Missons played a strong game between the posts making many saves.

Special mention to Myla Hughes who could not play due to an injury but could be heard cheering on her team all weekend.

After the game on Sunday the kids all received Central Region finalist medals.
