WEEKEND ROUNDUP: Offence Rolls for U9s in Win Over Barrie
The
Oshawa Storm squad split a pair of weekend games in U9 ringette action on the
weekend.
Saturday
afternoon at the Donovan Recreation Complex in Oshawa, the Storm exploded
offensively to post an 11-4 victory over the Barrie Blizzard.
Isla
McAdam netted a hat trick for the Storm, while Lily Tarpey, Makayla Brough and
Makayla Cole each scored twice. Rebecca Bryan and Ava Saunder-Godin added single
markers in the win.
Mya
Ieraci added three assists for the Storm, while Mayci Grieve and Csenge Laszlo
each added a pair of helpers. Rachel Beers, Brynn Klender and Bryan added
single assists.
Jocelyn Wilson was solid between the pipes in the victory.
On Sunday in Sunderland, the Storm dropped a 10-5 decision to the Stingerz.
Grieve scored twice and added two assists in defeat, while Bryan, Saunders-Godin and Ieraci netted a goal each.
Bryan also added an assist.
U12Rs Storm Back to Earn Win Over Whitby
Despite trailing late in the second period, the Oshawa Storm fought back to draw even and took the lead for good when Kenedi Donahue-Moffat scored her first goal of the season to put her team ahead by one.
Ellie Sargent sealed the victory with a goal with just 17 seconds remaining to secure a 7-5 win.
Beatrice McAdam lead the way with two goals and an assist, while Mackenzie Stone also netted a pair of goals.
Rachael Bryan added a goal and two assists in the win, while Maddy Sainte Ste. Marie added an assist.
Stella Youngs made 17 saves, including several key stops late in the game to secure the victory.
