WEEKEND ROUNDUP: Storm Shut Out Lightning

The Oshawa Storm U9 squad used a balanced attack and a solid defensive effort to earn a 3-0 victory over the Pickering Lighting on Saturday at the Delpark Homes Centre in Oshawa.

Mayci Grieve, Rebecca Bryan and Brynn Klender each scored for the Storm, while Makayla Cole added an assist.

Isla  McAdam earned the shutout with a strong effort between the pipes.

Solid Performance for U8s vs Whitby

The Oshawa Storm U8 team came out victorious against the Whitby Wild in action on Saturday.

Solid defence by Camille Mathers, Morgan mcMaon, Madison Snow, Keira Dewar and Olivia Byrom helped Ella Brazier to have an outstanding game between the posts only letting two slip past her.

Adele Keeler led the Storm with four goals and two assists. Lyla Walker netted two goals and two assists, while Callum Bruce notched a pair of goals to go with an assist.

Harper McAllister, Jackson Missons and Brynn Macintyre all scored single goals, while Emily Peel, McAllister, Missions,  Byron and Dewar all recorded assists. 

Newmarket Rallies to Victory Over U12R’s

The Newmarket Rays scored five times in the second half to overcome a 2-0 deficit and earn a 5-3 victory over the Oshawa Storm in U12 Regional action on Sunday at the Magna Centre in Newmarket.

Rachael Bryan scored twice for the Storm, while Beatrice McAdam added a single tally.

Mackenzie Stone and Maddy Sainte-Marie recorded assists.

Stella Youngs made 12 saves in another strong performance in net.
