WEEKEND ROUNDUP: U10 Storm Earn Tie With Whitby

The Oshawa Storm used a total effort to earn a 5-5 against the Whitby Wild in U10 action on Saturday at the Delpark Homes Centre in Oshawa.  

Laura Cooper and Addison Wright shared 'Workhorse of the Game' honours, while Alexis Petrie served as team captain. 

U8 Storm Battle Lightning in Pickering 

The Oshawa Storm U8 battled the Pickering Lightning in an early Sunday morning game against on the large ice at Ajax Community Centre.  

Jackson Missons netting the only two goals for the Storm, Olivia Byrom put in a stellar performance in net making multiple saves. 

The U8 Storm are looking forward to their first out of town tournament this weekend in Kitchener.

U12 R Storm Fall Short of Advancing in Kingston

A tough 7-6 loss to the Nepean Ravens proved to be the difference as the U12 Regional Storm failed to advance from round robin play in last weekend’s Kingston Ringette Tournament.

The Storm started off the tournament with an 8-4 victory over Kingston. Ellie Sargent led the way with three goals, while Emma Davies added two markers.

Rachael Bryan, Lauren McDonald and Mackenzie Stone added single tallies. Bryan and Jena Marshall each notched two assists, while single helpers when to McDonald, Stone, Beatrice McAdam and Mackenzie Walker.

Stella Youngs put in a solid performance in making 18 saves.

Against Nepean, the Ravens scored with 5:12 remaining in the game to take the lead.

Despite a late surge, the Storm could not manage to pull even.

Youngs made 21 saves in defeat, while Bryan led the way with four goals. McAdam and McDonald added single goals, while Davies, Sargent, Stone and Maddy Sainte-Marie recorded assists.

In the final game of round robin play, the Storm dropped a 12-5 decision to Arnprior. Youngs was spectacular between the pipes making 35 saves as the Storm were out-shot 47-12 by Arnprior.

Bryan netted three goals and added an assist in the loss, while Davies and Stone each added a goal and an assist.
