Hat Tricks from Sargent and Stone Secure Road Victories
The Oshawa Storm opened the second half schedule with a pair
of road victories last weekend in U12 Regional action.
On Saturday in Newmarket, Mackenzie Stone scored three times
as the Storm defeated the Rays 8-3. Rachael Bryan and Ellie Sargent each scored
twice, while Abby Alchin added a single tally for her first goal of the season.
Emma Davies was in a giving mood earning four assists in the win, while Bryan, Stone and Avery Mathers added two helpers apiece. Lauren McDonald, Skylynn Horn, Beatrice McAdam, Kenedi Donahue-Moffat and Maddy Sainte-Marie each recorded an assist.
Logan Ament and Mackenzie Walker each had defensive games, while Stella Youngs was her usual steady self in net, making 18 saves.
On Sunday in Pickering, the Storm scored three second period goals to earn a 7-6 come-from-behind victory.
Sargent lead the way with three goals and an assist as the Storm defeated the Lightning for the first time this season.
Bryan, McDonald, McAdam and Stone added single markers for the Storm. Bryan and McDonald also added two assists, while Mathers, Horn and Davies recorded single helpers.
Mackenzie Phelan had a strong defensive game, while Youngs was again a force between the pipes, making 13 of her 25 saves in the second period to preserve the victory for Oshawa.
