
U12P Storm Earn Silver in St.Marys
The Oshawa Storm U12 Provincial team brought home a silver
medal after a solid weekend of ringette at the St. Marys Snipers Ringette
Tournament last weekend in St. Marys, Ont.
The Storm defeated the Chatham Thunder 5-3 in the opening game of the tournament before skating to a 4-4 tie with the host St. Marys Snipers.
Following an 8-5 loss to the London Lynx and an 8-6 defeat in a rematch against Chatham, Oshawa won the round robin tiebreaker to earn a spot in the Gold Medal game on Sunday. In the championship game, the Storm fell 8-2 to London.
Sarah Tumin led the way offensively on the weekend with seven goals and two assists, while Morgan Campbell netted five goals and added three helpers.
Danica Soares netted three goals, while Makayla Wheeler-Vieira and Ella Keeler each added two markers. Farrah Frame, who also recorded four assists, Kayla Jenkin and Fiona McAdam rounded out the scoring with single markers.
Chloe Vanderlinde notched five assists over the weekend, while Keeler, Jenkin, Soares, Kailee Parkin, and Josie Edison all added two helpers apiece. Rowan Bruce was solid in net for the Storm.
