Storm Squads Perform Well Over Weekend
It was a hectic weekend for the Oshawa Storm Ringette Association with six teams at
both the regional and provincial levels in action.
The U14A team came away with an 8-1 victory Sunday night in
Barrie over the Blizzard to earn a split in their weekend games after dropping
an 8-3 decision Thursday night to the Ajax Stars.
After falling to the Sunderland Stingerz 8-0 in U12 Regional action on Saturday at Legends Centre, the Storm bounced back on the road Sunday night to earn a point in a 4-4 tie with the Newmarket Rays.
Rachael Bryan scored the game-tying goal with under a minute remaining in the game to help the Storm earn the point. Emma Davies, Beatrice McAdam and Lauren McDonald each netted a goal in the draw. Stella Youngs was solid in net making 11 saves.
In U9 action, the Storm picked up two decisive victories over the weekend. On Saturday, the Storm defeated the Richmond Hill Lightning 8-2 before topping the Whitby Wild 10-3 on Sunday. The U10 Storm are now a perfect 4-0 on the season and have outscored opponents 38-8 thus far.
The U10 Storm evened their season record to 2-2 with a big 10-3 win over the Markham Bears on Saturday in Oshawa.
In U8 action, the Storm faced off against the Sunderland Stingerz. The score was reported as a tie game.
The U19A Storm capped off play at Legends Sunday night with a 4-2 loss to the Richmond Hill Lightning West.
